Fiestas Patrias

fiestas patrias crowdsIn partnership with Entravision Communications, Hispanic Annual Salute proudly presents Colorado’s annual Fiestas Patrias Celebration commemorating Mexico’s independence from Spain. The Spanish phrase “Fiestas Patrias” means “Patriotic Holidays” and Colorado’s event features the largest one-day festival in the state. The annual celebration reminds us that the spirit of freedom is indomitable and the event captures the true essence, culture, and heritage of the Hispanic community. Fiestas Patrias features cultural entertainment, live music, food, arts & crafts, and carnival rides. The traditional “Grito de Dolores” ceremony, a recreation of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla’s famous cry for independence from the Spanish colonialists in 1810, closes the event. Live music sets the stage and Mexian patriotism sets the tone at Civic Center Park!

Hispanic Annual Salute’s volunteer Board of Directors staffs the beverage booths to raise awareness and funding for their scholarship program. If you’d like to volunteer to help Hispanic Annual Salute at Fiestas Patrias this year on Sunday, September 18th. please click on the volunteer button and submit your information.
